It's a boy! Actually it's two boys!
TopForm is proud to announce the birth of Jonathan Robert Boyett and
John Kasra Behzadi, with Jonathan weighing in at 9lb 4oz, and John weighing in a 5lb 2oz. Please take time to congratulate both proud papas, but not too much time. They are both going to be even busier than ever.
BERT is Back!

Welcome Back Bert!
|
Like the popular song says, "You don't know what you've got 'till it's gone."
With all the years of complaining about poor old BERT, we were certainly
surprised to find out how much so many of you missed the little guy
after your migration to ProvideX. As you know BERT is a program that
writes programs. You design the report, and BERT goes to work writing
the program to create the report. Well since BERT was designed to
write programs in Thoroughbred Basic, he needed to be retrained to
write programs in ProvideX. Well, we are happy to report that he has
completed this training and testing, and is now available to go back
to work for you in the new ProvideX environment. To get your new BERT
release, please contact Robyn Shumaker
in Support.
Expanded Key Word Search
TopForm announces expanded Key Word Search capabilities. This new feature in TopForm Web.ec allows the buyer to search open and recently shipped orders by keying in any part of the following information.
The purchase order number or your sales order number
The item code or item description
The ship-to or cost center
Any part of the ship-to address, city, state, zip or attention line.
As soon as they click on the "Find Orders" button, all the orders that contain the words or characters entered will be displayed.
This new feature was developed with the input of several TopForm users. As the architects and financiers of the new features, they will enjoy the first release of this expanded capability. General release is planned later this year.
You Can Be A Part Of New Web.ec Development!
A number of development ideas have been posted on our website. You will have the opportunity to offer your input into the design of any of these new Web.ec features and in doing so be entitled to the first release of the new options.
Here is the procedure we will be following:
- Sign up for the features in which you have an interest.
- Enter your ideas and thoughts about each.
- A conference call will be scheduled with all interested parties to discuss the collective ideas.
- The specifications and an estimate of the time and expense required to develop the new feature will be documented and sent to all parties involved.
- The expense will be shared across all parties agreeing, at that time, to participate financially.
- Those parties will receive the new feature upon completion. It will be withheld from general release for a period of between four to twelve months, depended on the scope of the project.
We believe that this will allow us to provide better, more economical solutions on a more rapid timetable. Better, because they will be designed under the collective input of our experienced Web.ec users. More economical, because the development cost will be shared and on a more rapid time table as, with committed financial resources, we will be able to dedicate our production staff and even, at times, employ contract programmers.
If you are interested in being a part of this new Web.ec development
process, please contact Jean
Dudek for the website link. If you have any questions or need
further explanations about the process, please contact Bill
Bialy.

Conference CD Available for Order
We wanted to remind you that the TopForm Spring into Action 2002 Conference CD is now available. This CD contains all of the following:
- The PowerPoint presentations used by the presenters
- Written documentation for most sessions. This represents about 500 pages of Word documents containing written explanations of the topics being presented.
- A presentation, with audio to assist you in selling your company's technology based services. This presentation was created without references to any company names. A script of the audio portion is also included to assist you, should you wish to rerecord all or part of the presentation.
Of course this is no substitution for actually attending the conference
with the one on one interaction with TopForm experts and other users.
However, this CD is jam packed with value for $149. Please contact
Jean Dudek if you would
like to order your copy of Spring into Action 2002.
