Variable Print Option Now Supports Product Specific User Lists
TopForm has added a new feature to the Variable Print Option for Web.ec that allows the VPO Administrator to define item specific lists by selecting any two data input fields from the dropdown menus.
Background Information
The TopForm Variable Print Option for Web.ec has a great feature, in that users can repeat a variable print item, quickly and easily by choosing it from a user list. As an example, for a business card, the user can choose the name of the person whose card they wish to repeat (See Screen 1). When they select a user, all the variable data from the previous order appears (See Screen 2).

If nothing has changed, the buyer simply clicks the "Save and Proof" button and Voila! The item has been repeated, including, in this instance, the actual image that was stored from the previous order.

Any Variable Print Item could be repeated in this way by choosing, from the list, the user name of the creator. In the instance of a business card, it is quite natural to repeat an item by the name of the individual. And by having the user as the key, the same variable data could be repeated for a variety of items, for instance, a memo pad, or rolodex card. However, there are times, when it might be more user friendly to repeat an item based on other variable data. In the case of a Letterhead document, the key may be the Branch Name, or the address. For an envelope, it might be the City or the Zip Code.
Now the Variable Print Option for Web.ec allows the VPO Administrator to define item specific lists by selecting any two data input fields from the dropdown menus. The administrator can also provide labels for each selected field and they have the option to customize page sections titles.
