New Picking Priority Options in TopForm Software
It has been consistently observed that 80% of the profit, in a typical company, comes from 20% of their customers. Because of this, it is extremely important that you provide your most profitable customers with the highest level of service possible.

This month we would like to highlight a new feature that was created to do just that. This new feature gives you the ability to prioritize the picking tickets within each of your warehouse locations by Customer. This is accomplished by allowing the user to define Picking Priority Codes. The user can then assign a picking priority code to their top customers. All orders that are in the print queue will print in the order of the priority code that has been assigned to it. This allows you to manage shipments more efficiently and gives you the control necessary to provide the highest service levels for your best customers.
This new feature also allows you to assign the picking priority code by ship via. This ensures that time sensitive or Rush shipments are handled in the most effective manner.
When setting up the pick priority codes, you can use both Numeric and Alpha characters.

To assign a priority code to a customer, go to the Customer Defaults screen.

To assign a priority code to a ship via code, use the Ship Via Code Setup Program

This feature is not available if either the Sort by Bin location or Print in Order Number Sequence options are selected and, for obvious reasons, this feature is more effective if batch printing is used instead of unattended printing. Please note that the priority code assigned to a Ship Via Code, entered in the General Shipping instructions of an order, will always take precedence over one assigned to a customer.
