This month's tip on TopForm® reporting options relates to the three Salespersons Sales Analysis Reports.

When you run these reports with the defaulted (NORMAL) in the Options field, the data is sorted first by salesperson, then by order type, then by either product code or customer category. The three order types are New, Repeat and Other.

However, if you enter an "A" in the Options field, the data will accumulate across all order types in order to provide summarized sales analysis without regard to the Order Type.

New Sales Tax by Item feature

As you probably know, TopForm® has always had the option to determine whether an order should be tax exempt by customer, ship-to or by product code. However you may not be aware, that TopForm® now has a new option to determine the tax status at the "line item" level. This enhancement allows the user to designate a Taxable Status for Inventory and Custom Items.

Web.ec Feature - RC Number

Did you Know that TopForm® allows a Reporting Center number to be entered by line item during order entry?

This feature is available for buyers entering orders in Web.ec and for internal TopForm® operators in manual order entry. You may already be using the TopForm® Receiving or Billing Department codes for Cost Center reporting, however the RC (Reporting Center), also a twenty character number, can be entered at the line item level. It then provides your customers with the information they need for allocating costs.

TopForm® Leads the Industry in XML Interoperability

Today, more so than ever, distributors are using technology to grow their sales and become more efficient. TopForm® has been at the forefront of the development to provide their distributor customers with the XML tools to do just that. One recent success story is told by an industry leader and one of TopForm's most successful customers, Resource Print Management in Fort Worth, Texas.

RPM, founded by Glen James and Frank Poeschel, has been in business since 1996. When they implemented TopForm®, in February of 1998 they had five employees and revenue of about $1 million. Today they have 36 employees and have grown their revenue to over $15 million.

RPM had an opportunity with a very large Retail chain. This Retailer wanted to outsource the receiving and the distribution of all the products they consumed in the course of their business. Besides print, this included everything from aprons to knives, from signage to nails and screws. The Retailer used PeopleSoft Software and would have no part in the duplicate data entry of having to access any third party software or web offering. The company that would be awarded this $1 million plus opportunity would be able to send and receive data via XML.

We are excited to announce that we will be moving to our new offices on Friday, May 11th. We have been putting forth every effort to ensure that the transition goes smoothly with as little disruption to our customers as possible.

For those of you, who have services hosted at TopForm®, please be prepared for some down time. The good news is that we will be taking advantage of this down time to go ahead and upgrade our router. According to the schedule we received from our ISP, the transition will begin at 5:00 PM EST on May 11, 2007. The goal is to have the services reconnected by 7:00 PM EST but we ask that you be prepared for the reconnect time to change if unforeseen circumstances arise. We apologize for the inconvenience, and we want you to know we will be working hard to handle this in a timely manner.
